Window Tint

Why tint your windows?

Reduce heat and protect your interiors

Here in California, we are blessed with hot, sunny, days most of the year; that is one of the main reasons we love it here! Increasingly, however, the summer months have been unbearably hot, reaching scotching temperatures and pushing us indoors in search of reprieve. We find ourselves having to cranked up air conditioners for hours and days on end in order to maintain a tolerable climate. It feels great, until the energy bill comes!

While blinds and shades remain an effective way to reduce the amount of heat and light that come through the windows of your home or business, they must be closed in order to be effective… leaving you in the dark. This is where window tint comes into play. The addition of the thin film to the glass adds a perpetual layer of protection from the sun, increase energy efficiency by reducing heat, provides interior privacy, and can add a stylized aesthetic to your window’s glass.

Advantages of Tinted Windows

Energy Efficiency

Windows provide us with the views we love but the trade-off is the heat they allow to infiltrate the building. Adding a layer of tint to the glass can block much of this heat and keep interior temperatures much cooler; reducing the amount of air conditioning required to keep cool and providing more uniform temperatures throughout. Best of all, it can do this while still providing a view of the outside, unlike a closed window treatment.

Privacy Control

There are many different types of films available, each with different properties of light transmission. You can choose one that will obscure a little bit of the view inside all the way to completely blacking the window out. There is also a “dual reflective” option which reduces interior reflections, allowing you to still see out your window at night.

Enhanced Security

Have you ever seen someone try to break glass that was tinted? It is very hard to get through. This makes tint a perfect option to add a layer of security without sacrificing the look of your property by barricading it. The film hinders and slows down forcible entries which provides crucial time for escape or defense and a security response. A would-be criminal might even see the tint and decide that your property is not even worth the attempt.

Increased Safety

The same factors that enable tint to provide security, also make your windows safer. If someone accidently falls into the window, kicks a ball towards it, or a storm blows a tree over and it falls into the window, the glass may break but the glass shards will be held together by the tint film; preventing possible injury.

Block UV Rays

Ultraviolet rays are the invisible part of the suns energy, a radiation that causes damage to the items in your building and can even result in skin cancer. Window tint blocks out 99% of UV rays, even with clear film, and protects you, your floors, paintings, rugs, and furniture from damaging exposure.

Enhanced Look

When you look at a building and it doesn’t have standard-looking glass, it is very noticeable. A wide-range of looks is achievable with the different types of films offered and their respective properties. Custom looks are given to buildings using films that come in a variety of colors in varying degrees of light transmission. Decorative films are also available which give the appearance of cut glass in different patterns.
